Dr ID Reader

Dr. Isabel Dawn Reader is a dedicated and experienced general practitioner with over 20 years of medical experience, including 14 years as the owner of a successful private practice in Pretoria. She obtained her MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 2003 and has since pursued diverse roles in general medicine, emergency care, anaesthesiology, and diving and hyperbaric medicine.

She holds additional qualifications in Underwater Medicine (University of Stellenbosch) and a Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine (2025), with further training in botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Dr. Reader has worked internationally, including in Zanzibar and Libya, and serves as a medical officer for the Divers Alert Network in both South Africa and the U.S.

Her clinical experience spans ICU, orthopaedics, gynaecological assistance, and accident and emergency medicine. She currently owns and operates multiple medical and aesthetic practices, including The Hive Medical Center and Vogue Iz Aesthetic Medical Practice.

Fluent in English and Afrikaans (and learning Italian), Dr. Reader is also a passionate diver and award-winning visual artist, blending science and creativity in her professional and personal pursuits.
